Activity
1. Read the story " The Most Dangerous Game " .
2. Select the unfamiliar words by making a Vocabulary List, as it is shown in the example.
3. Make a word map, as it is shown in this template.
4. Fill out the blank template to form word map following the sample given in #3.
Analysis
- The students will be paired and share their ideas about the story.
- Each pair will discuss about the vocabulary they have listed. Find the common new vocabulary for them and together derive its meaning.
- Big group presentation, there will be a parade of vocabulary.
- Explain the line of the story that contains the vocabulary being cited.
- Relate the ideas presented in the story in their own life experience.
- Use these words to construct statements that depicts their personal connection to the thoughts of the story.
Application
- Read a newspaper article or a news article at the internet. Pick out at least 5 words which are new to you. Draw a word map following the same template illustrated.
